What DATwise Was Facing
DATwise sold data analytics subscriptions to mid-market companies, but 35% of trialists churned before connecting a single data source. The product was technically strong, but the onboarding required too many steps before delivering a first insight. Expansion MRR was also stagnant because customers were not discovering advanced features that justified higher-tier plans.

What We Built
We audited the onboarding funnel and redesigned the first-run experience around a single activation milestone: seeing one meaningful insight within 10 minutes of signup. A guided connector setup, sample dataset fallback, and contextual tooltips brought users to that milestone reliably. We added in-app feature discovery banners triggered by usage patterns, and a usage dashboard in the admin panel that showed each account their utilisation against their plan limit — surfacing natural upgrade moments.
