The Challenge
What Library Machine Was Facing
Library Machine served public libraries and educational institutions with on-premise library management software under multi-year site licences. The renewal cycle was unpredictable, support costs were high, and adding new features required expensive manual update deployments to each customer. The organisation needed to transition to SaaS subscriptions without the disruption of a forced migration that might trigger non-renewal from budget-constrained institutional buyers.
The Solution
What We Built
We built a cloud-hosted SaaS version of the platform with a data migration tool that transferred each institution catalogues and borrower records automatically. A white-label admin portal let library managers configure their instance without IT support. Pricing was structured as an annual per-reader subscription with a minimum reader count, aligning cost to the value institutions received. New feature releases deployed to all subscribers simultaneously, eliminating the manual update burden. A dedicated institutional onboarding checklist ensured each library achieved full operational readiness before the trial period ended.
